The Budding Angler |
|
Fish feared me, even then. |
Into the murky depths,
The Budding Angler's,
Bait is cast.
Unknowing what lurks
In the deep below,
Over the side, his line, he throws.
A twitch of the bobber,
A tug on the line,
On a fat worm,
A great fish will
dine.
He swallows it down,
With nary a look,
But hidden within,
Is a sharp,shiny hook.
He shakes and he struggles,
The Angler's pole bends,
The great fish fights on,
This could be his end.
To the surface, he's wrestled
No water,
Just air.
Now,into the face of the angler,
He stares.
Can we keep this one dad
The Mighty angler asks with a grin.
No, not this time son,
He looks kind'a thin.
I'll take out the hook.
You, put him back in.
We'll let him go now
And
He'll still be here.
You can catch him again,
When we come back,
Next year.
